Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Pop or Rock; the genre isn’t important when it comes to Prism Sound
Over the past few months Prism Sound has confirmed orders for a number of high profile artists from all areas of the industry. In the past Prism Sound has achieved success with its product range selling to a diverse range of artists including Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Metallica, Sting and Robbie Williams. In the past month there are two more names to add to that exclusive list, Legendary Jazz artist Courtney Pine and Rhythm and Blues man Jools Holland. Both artists have reached new heights in musical talent with their fresh no compromise approach to their work.Jools Holland has had a long and illustrious career. A founding member of Squeeze their hits took him all over the world clocking up million selling albums and playing stadium tours and a sell out Madison Square Garden. In 1985 Jools sowed the seed of the Rhythmn and Blues Orchestra with Gilson Lavis, Squeezes Drummer. Today the Orchestra has evolved into an 18 Piece band playing sell out gigs all over the world. Jools has recorded with many of the worlds most talented artists including Eric Clapton, BB King, Luther Vandross, George Harrison and in 1999 was invited by Dr John to play Piano on his new album. This was considered by Jools to be one of his greatest accolades. In 2003 Jools was awarded the O.B.E by the Queen for services to the British Music Industry. With a track record like this is was of utmost importance when it came to purchasing converters for the new album that the decision was the right one. When Music Control were approached to supply a brand of converter, they were asked their opinion on the Prism Sound ADA-8XR, as this had been recommended. The reply could not have been more positive. Prism Sound's reputation had yet again preceded them. It transpired into a purchase of five ADA-8 and ADA-8XR units for their Pro-tools HD system. The integration was seamless and the performance provided them with the clarity and definition they required.
Legendary Jazz Saxophonist Courtney Pine encompasses the dramatic changes, which have been seen in UK Jazz scene over the past twenty years. Since the release of his first album back in 1987, “Journey to the Urge”. His career has taken him to all four corners of the world and his international acclaim continues to grow. To date he has released ten solo albums including the most recent “Devotion” in 2003. His American successes include reaching Number 14 in the Billboard Chart with the album “Closer to Home” and working with such Jazz legends as Charnett Moffett, Geri Allen and Ronnie Burrage. He was honoured with the MOBO award for best Jazz act two years running 96/97. Since then he has gone on to work with many UK talents including Beverly Knight, Lynden David Hall and Kele Le Roc. His talent does not only stretch to playing music, he is now an accomplished presenter with Courtney Pines Jazz Crusade on BBC Radio 2 and Presenting a number of documentaries for the BBC. His energy knows no end. His workshops which stretch as far a field as Africa, Asia and South America, as well as his consistent dedication to touring were summed up in 2000 when he received an O.B.E for his services to music and the black community. Courtney approached Prism Sound on the recommendation of a friend. He was looking for a replacement for his current converter, which wasn’t delivering what he demanded of it. He received a demo of the ADA-8 and on first hearing the unit he immediately knew that this was the one. Its clean and transparent sound was the perfect match for his material. He needed something that was going to provide him with performance across the whole audio spectrum. The search for what he was looking for was over. The ADA-8 was the answer.
