Auto Sequence tool for Test management, automation and report generation
With Auto Sequence you will be able to:
- Easily set up automated test sequences without writing any automation code;
- Automatically limit-check readings, sweep traces, FFT spectra, multi-tones and other trace types with pass/fail results;
- Generate professional quality reports of your test results in HTML and PDF (via print to pdf) and/or Excel spreadsheets.
Learn more about how Auto Sequence can help you organize your tests, automate test processes and document your results in our short video below.

Setting up a new test sequence
To set up a new test sequence, simply create a new folder and then save in it the dScope configurations for each of your tests.

How to set up the configurations - a few simple rules for checking results
Use a few simple rules while setting up your test configurations in your sequence folder and Auto Sequence will execute them as a test sequence.
As Auto Sequence runs through the Tests it will open each Configuration and look for Readings, Sweeps, Channel Check and FFT based results. Readings windows are created from dScope panels such as the Signal Analyzer or Continuous Time Detector by clicking and dragging a result out of the panel. Once created a Reading can have units changed and test limits set as well as adding a bargraph display. Graphical results can be bounded for Pass/Fail purposes with limit lines. Results may also simply be inspected without requiring a PASS or FAIL decision in which case no limits are set.

Generating reports and saving test data to MS-Excel
- Auto Sequence collects your data whether tests are executed manually or automatically.
- Add notes for the test report after each device test completed
- Generate an html and/or PDF report by simply clicking the "Report" button.
- Auto Sequence can also write your results to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet as tests are executed.
- Excel data can be appended in successive sessions, creating a data set that can easily be used for statistical analysis.

Auto Sequence MS-Excel output
For MS Excel, Auto Sequence configures the Excel spreadsheet completely automatically during a first pass through the test sequence. Thereafter, it will populate the results table with a new line for each device tested. Below is an example:
