Tracking down audio problems in a broadcast chain is more challenging today than ever before. The tried and true methods for analogue signal chains no longer apply. The dScope and DSA-1 were uniquely designed in conjunction with major broadcasters and their standards organizations with this in mind. They incorporate measurement capabilities not found on any other instrument. Built-in automated analysis tools like a watchdog event logger to detect and catch those troublesome clicks and pops and then ways to look at and examine the digital stream provide capabilities not found on any other instrument.

Tracking down pops and glitches
Have you ever had to track down a troublesome pop or glitch? No problem! Prism Sound's measurement instruments include powerful 'Event Manager' features to watch over your equipment for you so you don't have to - and these tools are not found anywhere else. The Event Manager allows you to track down any kind of intermittent audio fault imaginable, whether it be the occasional pop or glitch in a broadcast audio system, premature thermal compression in a power amplifier, drift in the digital frame rate of an AES3 source, a troublesome cross-point switch in a router... you name it, we can solve it.

Verify Your Loudness Monitoring Regime
Although Prism Sound equipment does not directly provide a loudness monitoring solution, we do provide a series of validation tests for loudness monitors according to BS1770. This consists of test signals which can be generated by a dScope Series III and which give a specified loudness reading. For more information, read the paper on Understanding & Verifying Loudness Meters. You can also download the test signals for free. In addition, we are distributors for the Qualis Audio Sentinel loudness monitors.
