Prism Sound’s Mic To Monitor seminars provide a great opportunity for everyone involved in music recording – from students and hobbyists through to audio professionals – to learn from experts in the field. The seminars answer important questions about technique, helping attendees to identify what makes great music great. They also provide a networking opportunity and allow those involved in music recording to discuss new technology with high end audio equipment manufacturers.
The new US and Canada events kick off on October 16th at Drexel University in Philadelphia. From there the tour goes to CCNY, New York (October 20th); Boston (October 23rd); Lyndon State University, Lyndonville (October 24th) and Musitechnik, Montreal (October 25th).
In Boston, attendees will have to opportunity to learn from top mastering engineer and President of M-Works, Jonathan Wyner, who is guest speaker for this event. During a career spanning nearly 30 years, Wyner has mastered more than 6000 CDs spanning every musical genre and all kinds of artists including James Taylor, Kiri Te Kanawa, David Bowie, Aimee Mann, Tiny Tim and Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
“Having the support of top recording and mastering experts such as Robert and Jonathan is fantastic and we are really excited about the new dates we’ve added to our Mic To Monitor tour,” says Prism Sound’s Sales Director Graham Boswell. “Sharing knowledge is key to the success of these events and from the feedback we have received we know that those attending really appreciate having the opportunity to learn from people who are legendary within our industry.”
Prism Sound is working with a number of sponsors for this leg of the Mic To Monitor tour, including SADiE, GIK Acoustics, RØDE Microphones and Genelec, all of which will give presentations on recording techniques, audio hardware design and how to get the best from your studio.
