Further Thunderbolt support through latest Apple adapters
Cambridge, UK, 12 September 2012: - Prism Sound FireWire interface and Mac OS X users are further ensured that their Orpheus and ADA-8XRs remain future-proof with the release of Apple's Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter. The adapters will allow Orpheus and FireWire configured ADA-8XRs to connect to a high-speed Thunderbolt connection, including the latest Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops which have no built in FireWire ports but do feature Thunderbolt connections as standard.
Mac users will also benefit from the availability of an extra bus allowing you to connect other FireWire devices, such as hard drives and DSP processors, alongside your Orpheus or ADA-8XR.
The new adapter is available now at the Apple Store: US Apple store page, UK Apple store page and requires a Mac with a Thunderbolt connection running OS X 10.7.4 or later.
FireWire, Thunderbolt and the development of standalone software means native audio production has never been more popular, providing the perfect solution for users requiring the freedom of flexibility between hardware and software combinations, expandability through cascading multiple units and devices via the convenience of a single connection.
