George Massenburg puts his seal of approval on Prism Sound's ADA-8XR
Nashville, US - September 2006: Producer George Massenburg has invested in a Prism Sound ADA-8XR converter for his personal use in any of his projects in and out of Blackbird Studio, Nashville, with various digital i/o boards including FireWire, AES and Pro Tools HD.

"I work on many different platforms in and out of the studio," George Massenburg explains. "The ADA-8XR's ability to interface elegantly from anything to anything makes it a universal solution for me. I use it whenever I need higher quality conversion than the systems in the studio infrastructure. Also, it doesn't restrict me to a DAW that a client might not prefer, or one that might not be appropriate for a given project. And it's perfect for taking my MacBook Pro out in the field: with several very good mics and a big hard disk I can make superb field recordings, including high-quality audio for video.
Massenburg adds that the ADA-8XR is particularly well suited to certain kinds of music, most notably highly-detailed acoustic music (not to mention traditional classical) where it is, in his opinion, 'hands-down unbeatable'.
"For orchestra recording, I put it right up there with the highest-performing competition," he says. "It's also about the best clock we've ever seen on our analyser, outperforming each and every one of the usual suspects.
Renowned as a producer, mastering engineer and founder of GML, George Massenburg has a list of credits that read like a Who's Who of the music industry. They include Linda Ronstadt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins, Journey, Madeleine Peyroux, James Taylor, Randy Newman, Lyle Lovett, Aaron Neville, Little Feat, Michael Ruff, Toto, The Dixie Chicks.
Most recently he has been producing an orchestral album for Ben Folds and mixing projects for a number of different artists including an original, unreleased Trio song for Emmylou Harris' forthcoming box set.
