Razorlight Gets The Prism Sound Treatment

Razorlight's eponymous second album looks set to be another huge hit for the band when it is released this month (July). And Prism Sound is delighted to have played a small part in its success by supplying the converters that were used during its production.

The album was recorded and mastered earlier this year at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios in London, with legendary producer Chris Thomas at the helm. The two-studio complex has eight Prism Sound ADA-8XR multi-channel converters and processors running between both studios, which are equipped with Pro Tools HD and Nuendo systems.

Studio manager David Stewart says: "Razorlight used six of the converters to record to Pro Tools and they performed flawlessly. Another ADA-8XR was used for mastering. We chose Prism Sound ADA-8XR converters because they sound fantastic and we knew clients such as Chris and Razorlight would appreciate their quality."

Jamie Johnson, who engineered the album, says: "This was the first time I have used Prism Sound converters and I was really impressed - they were fantastic. The sound was incredibly bright and crisp, which is what you need when you're recording a live band. You need to be able to capture the energy and atmosphere and the Prism Sound units did this perfectly."
