The Swoon Factory Adds To Its Stock Of Prism Sound Converters
Austrian audio post
production and mastering facility The Swoon Factory has added to its
stock of Prism Sound converters by investing in more ADA-8 units.
The Vienna-based facility, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this
year, bought its first Prism Sound ADA-8 converter earlier this year
and was so impressed with its performance that it has now acquired two
more. The facility also owns an AD-2 converter and Maselec EQ and
Compressor units.
“High quality sound is very important to us,” says
Swoon Factory CEO and music producer Bernhard Thurner. “We
have an analogue console and a wide range of analogue outboard
equipment. We are using the converters to take the signal from our
digital equipment and transfer it to the desk for the stereo mix. We
are also using the converters to transfer audio from our outboard
equipment into our digital workstation. This gives us the flexibility
to work in both the analogue and digital domains, while still
maintaining our high audio standards. The Prism Sound units were
superior to everything else we looked at. They definitely increase our
performance because we can now hear everything so much better, deeper
and clearer. This means that we don’t make bad decisions
based on bad converters.”
The Swoon Factory primarily handles rock and pop productions, along
with casting shows and some post production for radio and television.
Recent clients have included the Sofa Surfers, Falco, Starmania and a
major library music project for the Vienna Symphonic orchestra.
“Prism Sound’s ADA-8 converters are digital
audio’s answer to the Swiss Army knife,” Thurner
adds. “We were very happy to have one unit and are now even
happier because we have three.”
