Focusrite buys a second Prism Sound dScope Series III audio analyzer
Cambridge, UK: The speed and accuracy of Prism Sound's dScope Series III audio analyzer has led Focusrite Audio Engineering to install a second unit at its headquarters in Buckinghamshire.

The company has been using dScope Series III audio analyzers for some years because the units provide such precise and reliable results.
Simon Jones, Focusrite's R&D manager, says: "We use dScope Series III analyzers for both R&D and production line testing. At the moment our units are being employed across a wide range of products, including Firewire-based audio devices. dScope's real-time FFT and signal display is superb, while its multi-tone analysis features save us a lot of time in production line testing. In my opinion dScope is the best and most cost-effective audio testing solution on the market."

Simon Woollard, Sales and Applications Engineer for Prism Sound, adds: "dScope's trace window is an ideal tool to visualize the performance of an audio system, from time domain waveforms to FFT displays, analysis, filters and distortion residuals to swept response curves and even multi-tone results - all on the same graph at the same time. dScope's multiple FFT detectors allow the user to interpret the FFT trace analytically with high-precision numerical readouts, allowing up to 40 different audio parameters to be monitored and checked against limits simultaneously - a truly unique and time-saving feature".
The dScope Series III audio analyzer is a comprehensive and powerful measurement system for analogue and digital audio generation and analysis, including digital audio carrier testing, quasi-anechoic microphone/loudspeaker analysis and testing of Windows® sound devices. This industrial-strength audio test and measurement system comprises a Windows PC software application (XP and Vista® compatible) coupled with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connections.
Jones adds that another reason for Focusrite's commitment to Prism Sound technology is the excellent technical support that it receives.
"Prism Sound's technical support is great and has always been very quick to respond to any issues that have arisen," he says.
