dScope Series III helps Mandozzi Electronics improve efficiency and quality
Cambridge, UK: When you manufacture high quality professional audio equipment for many of the world's top broadcasters, it is imperative that the equipment you use to test your products is both accurate and reliable. This is why Swiss company Mandozzi Electronics Inc has recently invested in another dScope Series III audio analyzer from Prism Sound to test its extensive range of digital audio mixers, matrices and transmission equipment.
Established in 1965 and situated in Lugano, Mandozzi Electronics Inc has an enviable reputation for developing and manufacturing high-tech products for transmitting and processing audio and video signals and digital data. The company supplies equipment to broadcasters such as MDR (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk) and RBB (Radio Berlin-Brandenburg) in Germany, Swedish Radio, NRK and Telenor in Norway, Deutsche Telekom, the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation and RAI in Italy.
Prior to investing in dScope Series III, Mandozzi was using a different manufacturer's audio test system but when this proved to be unreliable the company began looking for an alternative.
Mandozzi's Technical Project Leader Marc Biver says: "The dScope Series III was recommended by one of our customers, so we got a unit in for evaluation and from the very first measurements we took we were convinced that this was the product for us. Given the nature of our business, it is vital that we have access to reliable and accurate audio test equipment. We were very impressed by the system and have since ordered a total of three units."
Prism Sound's dScope Series III is a comprehensive and powerful measurement system for analogue and digital audio generation and analysis, including digital audio carrier testing, quasi-anechoic microphone/loudspeaker analysis and testing of Windows™ sound devices. This industrial-strength audio test and measurement system comprises a Windows PC (XP™ and Vista™ compatible) software application coupled with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connections.
Biver adds: "Our R&D department is using dScope for debugging hardware and final test, while in production it is being employed for calibration and functional tests. Some of our broadcast customers are also using it for factory acceptance tests. dScope Series III has helped Mandozzi to improve the overall quality of its equipment and to become more efficient in measurement automation."
