South Korean Manufacturers Embrace Prism Sound's Audio Test Equipment For R&D And Production Testing
Cambridge, UK: Manufacturers making consumer products with an audio component are increasingly turning to Prism Sound's audio test equipment to ensure their products meet the demands of their discerning customers. And nowhere is this more in evidence than in South Korea, one of the Four Tigers of East Asia and a country that has achieved an incredible record of growth and integration into the high-tech modern world economy. With consumer electronics and automobile production counting among the country's leading industries, it is no surprise that Prism Sound's audio test equipment is finding its way into the R&D departments and onto the production lines of companies making mobile phones, in-car stereos, MP3 players, Hi-Fi equipment and television sets.
Echo Korea Instruments, Prism Sound's South Korean distributor, has recently supplied dScope Series III audio analyzers to a number of key consumer electronics and automotive companies. Prism Sound's dScope Series III is a comprehensive and powerful measurement system for analogue and digital audio generation and analysis, including digital audio carrier testing, quasi-anechoic microphone/loudspeaker analysis and testing of Windows™ sound devices. This industrial-strength audio test and measurement system comprises a Windows PC (XP™ and Vista™ compatible) software application coupled with an external high-precision audio I/O processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connections. Young Hun, head of Echo Korea Instruments, says: "Our customers are switching to Prism Sound's dScope Series III because it delivers accurate and reliable results much more quickly than its competitors. One of our customers - a major manufacturer of MP3 and mobile phone technology - has found that the dedicated automation script specifically designed for them by Prism Sound's technical team has significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to test the audio performance of its products.
"We have also recently supplied a dScope Series III audio analyzer to a major car manufacturer, which is using the unit to test in-car MP3 audio systems for a new automobile model. This customer was having difficulties with hum and signal to noise ratios, but with the help of the dScope Series III it has been able to identify and rectify the problem."
Young Hun adds that competitive pricing, extensive after-sales support and the fact that dScope Series III is so easy to use have all been contributory factors in its South Korean success.
"We are delighted to represent a product that is so obviously the best on the market when it comes to testing high quality audio," he adds. "Prism Sound has an excellent reputation in South Korea and we're seeing a steady flow of orders for dScope Series III from some of the top manufacturers in the country."
