Eltest Ltd gets off to a flying start with Prism Sound's test and measurement products
Cambridge - November 2007: Prism Sound has appointed Eltest Ltd as the Hungarian distributor for its full range of audio test and measurement products.Based in Budapest, Eltest was established in 2003 as the official Hungarian distributor for LeCroy, which manufacturers a range of high-end oscilloscopes. It has subsequently added to its product range and now offers a wide variety of electronic measuring instruments from manufacturers such as Tabor Electronics, EMC Partners, GW Instek, Pacific Power Source and Lambda.
Eltest's strength lies in its understanding and expertise of the test and measurement market. Eltest's managing director and sales manager, Daróczi Dezsö, has over 10 years experience in selling high-end test and measurement instruments and was previously a design engineer. His business partner, Janos Redai, is responsible for sales and technical support and has over 20 years experience in servicing electronic instruments for companies such as Wandel & Golterman, Anritsu, LeCroy, Audio Precision and Fluke.
The company turns over in excess of 600,000 USD per year and has a customer list that includes the National Communications Authority, T-COM, T-MOBILE, Vodafone, HungaroControl, Antenna Hungária, the Hungarian Army, BONN, GE Hungary, National Instruments, ELCOTEQ, FLEXTRONICS, JABIL, SOLECTRON, EPCOS, TYCO, BOSCH, Blaupunkt, PHILIPS, Continental Temic, Continental Teves and AUDI.
In recent months, Eltest has supplies two Prism Sound DSA-1 hand-held AES/EBU Signal Analyzer and generator units to T-COM, Hungary's main telephone company, which is affiliated to Deutsche Telekom.
The DSA-1 is an invaluable trouble-shooting tool for digital audio equipment and installations. It is unique as a hand-portable, battery-powered instrument for electrical, timing and data analysis of digital audio signals; these factors are vital in establishing reliable interconnection operating margins. The latest version 2.20 software features a versatile signal generator, plus a host of extended analysis and logging functions.
"T-Com approached us because they were looking for an instrument that could accurately measure their digital audio transmissions," Dezsö explains. "We recommended the Prism Sound units as their portability and flexibility made them ideally suited to the task."
Dezsö adds that the Prism Sound range of test and measurement products, which includes the internationally acclaimed dScope Series III Audio Analyzer, fits perfectly with its existing product portfolio and is already generating plenty of interest from the Hungarian market.
