Loewe trusts Prism Sound dScope III for their production line
Munich, Germany - September 2006: German manufacturer of televisions, DVD recorders, Hi-Fi installations and complete home cinema solutions, Loewe, has recently purchased its fifth Prism Sound dScope III Audio Analyzer, which will be deployed by quality controllers in the production department.Loewe is a quoted company that was established in 1923 and today represents the leading European brand in the premium TV market. Intuitive design, innovative technology and top quality characterise the products that carry the Loewe name. Technological highlights include televisions with integrated hard-disc recorders and digital television receivers as well as plasma and LCD televisions.
Horst Heuschmann, Head of Test Engineering, found that after Loewe bought their first dScope in 2005 they were able to complete faster automated testing on the production line. "Working with the Prism Sound engineering team, our controllers used Visual Basic Script to complete the control of the dScope Series III very quickly." Horst Heuschmann says, "for us besides the compact design the fast measurement acquisition, thanks to the unique multi-tone capabilities of the dScope III, was the bottom line argument for the use in our production line. Meanwhile we conduct many automated audio measurements in our production department with dScope Series III."
The dScope Series III is a compact computer based measurement tool used for service, development and quality assurance for all measurements of digital and analogue audio signals including AES/EBU carrier signals. The cutting-edge architecture of the unit makes it possible to perform numerous measurements simultaneously. Multi-tone measurements enable fast logging of numerous simultaneous measurements so the quality of systems such as transmission networks can be tested in seconds.
For measurements at board level, there is a peripheral available called the VSIO which allows the dScope to interface directly to I2S and other digital serial audio busses. This allows the dScope to make its full range of audio measurements on digital audio traversing the tracks of a PCB. It is also particularly useful for assessing ADC and DAC circuits.
