Lawo invests in its fourth dScope

Munich, Germany - September 2006: Lawo, the German specialist for the construction of audio mixing consoles and routers for radio and TV, has recently purchased its fourth Prism Sound dScope Series III Audio Analyzer which is used to test audio cards.

Lawo develops and produces digital audio mixers for transmission, broadcast, production, and related software. In addition, Lawo offers cross-point switching systems, audio networks, project management and installation and acts as prime contractor for audio outside broadcast vans.

Amongst other things, production Quality Controller Benjamin Piltz is responsible for the final production tests. "We have been using the dScope Series III for the analogue and digital I/O module of the Lawo DALLIS System for 2 years. The key deciding factor was the simple user interface and the extensive automation features, which enabled a complete Go/No-go test with several Visual Basic test scripts. dScope Series III makes an ideal test system in our assembly line with its external switchers enabling tests of multiple I/O modules. We automate setup of the equipment under test using the PC serial port".

Launched in 2002, Prism Sound's dScope Series III is suitable for a wide range of digital and analogue audio applications and is used in many market sectors including broadcast, multimedia, CD, DVD, computer audio, transducer, digital telephony and communications. It is comprehensive and accurate for R&D, portable and intuitive for maintenance or field service and fast, automatic and IT-friendly for the production line.

As well as covering the traditional audio test functions, dScope Series III incorporates the important new features needed to work with the latest audio technologies. These include digital interface test tools such as carrier waveform and eye-pattern display, jitter measurement and AES3/IEC60958 channel status generation and analysis as well as support for higher sampling rates. dScope Series III has a uniquely simple, state-of-the-art synchronous multi-tone capability, which can measure dozens of parameters simultaneously.
