FM Stereo Multiplex Generation with dScope III Audio Analyzer

Cambridge, UK - April 2006: Prism Sound has announced a FREE downloadable script for its dScope Series III audio analyzer, which will aid in testing FM radio receivers and transmission systems.

The Visual Basic script generates a multi-tone stimulus encoded as an FM stereo multiplex (MPX) signal, enabling ultra-fast simultaneous measurement of signal level, distortion, signal-to-noise-ratio, frequency response and crosstalk at the output of the receiver under test.

In addition, an RDS sub-carrier can be included in the MPX, carrying basic information such as 'Program Service Name' for RDS decoder testing.

The script can be modified by the user to customise test frequencies, RDS content etc.
