DSA-1 Manager Software
Launched
Prism Sound’s DSA-1
hand-held AES/EBU Signal Analyzer and Generator is now
available with a brand new “DSA-1 Manager” suite of
software designed for Windows XP.

The new software combines several functions previously handled by
separate applications, including:
· Download of firmware updates
· Uploading of test results
logged by the instrument
· Editing, compiling and
downloading of customized Go/No-go Test Sequences
· Real-time remote control
from the host PC with “virtual DSA-1” GUI
The DSA-1 is a mature and well established solution for testing AES
devices and systems and yet remains unique in the marketplace.
The DSA-1 leads the field of AES test devices because it provides a
customizable Go/No-go test capability that includes comprehensive
coverage of both carrier (bearer signal), data and meta-data tests.
The ability to specify a level of standards conformance and
implementation is important because of the complexity of the interface
and the wide range of implementation and conformance levels found in
practice.
Since its launch in the mid 1990’s, the DSA-1 has gained a
strong
reputation throughout the pro audio and broadcast industries for its
versatility and ease of use. The product was subsequently updated to
include a signal generator capability and it is now widely regarded as
an invaluable trouble-shooting tool for digital audio equipment and
installations.
Being both hand-portable and battery powered makes the DSA-1 ideal for
use in installation design, commissioning and support and it provides
essential capabilities that help to establish reliable interconnection
operating margins.
The latest version 2.20 software features a signal generator in
addition to analysis functions, plus a host of extended analysis and
logging functions. DSA-1 software upgrades are easily
user-installed by a simple serial-download to flash memory.
The new DSA-1 manager software, as well as the DSA-1 V2.20 software and
operation manual are available for download from the Prism Sound test and measurement downloads page.
