Scripts and Automation: Retrieve the dScope Series III installation path
Short example VBScript showing how to retrieve the dScope Series III software installation path from the system registry. The script uses the Windows Scripting Host Shell object to find and report the path to the dScope installation from the registry. Since the file system of the dScope is structured around the installation folder, once you know where dScope is installed, it is easy to find the other files. For example, there is a specific folder for dScope Graph Exports. This the default location that dScope stores its saved graphs so if you want to store your graphs there too, you could find the path reliably for any dScope Series III computer installation using this code.
Usage
This script is not a lot of use on its own as it only puts up a message box to display the installation path. It is provided to illustrate the technique and therefore it is envisaged that you will open the file and edit it to make use of the functionality in other automation applications, particularly where the same programs will be installed to multiple computers that may or may not have the same installation structure.
